Boris Kagarlitsky on the case of Azat Miftakhov

Boris Kagarlitsky, sociology professor at the Moscow Higher School for Social and Economic Sciences, supports Azat Miftakhov. Having himself experienced the artrocities of Russian prison (Kagarlitsky was a dissident under Brezhnev regime and was arrested both during Eltsin’s and Putin’s rule) professor shows solidarity with all the political prisoners. He relentlessly speaks about Azat in media, and his popular online journal and  YouTube channel Rabkor often hosts Azat supporters as speakers. Kagarlitsky urges international community not to be indifferent to Azat’s story. In his article in Canadian Dimension he puts Azat’s case in perspective and tells about political persecution in Russia.
